No Wire to Bury
There is no need to bury any wires.
Transmitter
A lightweight transmitter which emits a constant radio signal in all directions is supplied. The transmitter should be plugged indoors and it is advisable to do so in a room with as little physical restrictions as possible, in the direction towards the pet play area. The point where it is plugged in becomes the center of the circular-shaped safe pet play area and can extend up to 105 ft. from the installed transmitter in all directions. The wireless signal emitted can be adjusted by the turn of a dial on the transmitter
Easy to Set up
Setting up the PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence can be done in less than 2 hours. It is also very portable which makes it possible to carry along and use on vacations where an enclosed space with a 110 V outlet to plug the transmitter is accessible.
Rechargeable Receiver Collar
The system is equipped with a rechargeable receiver collar. This waterproof collar charges rapidly, between 2-3 hours. Depending on the frequency of its use, the collar only needs to be recharged every 3 weeks. The strap-like collar has a functional design with the comfort of pets in mind. It is suitable for pets weighing 5 lbs and greater, with neck sizes between 6 in. and 8 in.
The receiver collar receives instructions from the transmitter through radio waves. If the pet approaches the boundaries of the safe play area, the receiver emits a warning beep. If the pet attempts to cross the boundary, a static correction is released by the receiver collar which is perfectly harmless to the pet but has the effect of discouraging the pet from proceeding. The receiver collar has an expected lifetime between 3 – 5 years.
5 Correction Levels
The receiver collar can be adjusted for the 5 different levels of static correction. The level chosen depends on owners’ discretion and the temperament and comfort of the dog. A responsive dog can do well with a lower correction level, while a stubborn dog will require a higher level of correction to stay within the fence. The pet owner might also prefer to use the tone-only option. Multiple pets can be added to the system provided that each wears a PetSafe Wireless Fence Receiver collar.
Circular boundary
The PetSafe Stay + Play system establishes a wireless circular boundary to contain pets. This safe space can be adjusted up to ¾ of an acre, that is, a circular diameter up to 210 ft. The distance from the transmitter in any given direction has a minimum radius of 22 ft. and a maximum radius of 105 ft. This distance is controlled by turning a dial on the transmitter.
Large Operation Area
To extend the safe play boundary beyond 105 ft from the transmitter, multiple transmitters are required. Each transmitter must be plugged into a power outlet indoors. A distance of 150 ft. between transmitters must not be exceeded for the boundary area to be extended appropriately. The signals of the transmitters will overlap (at least 10 ft.) to achieve this.
Training
With the help of the receiver collar, after the transmitter has been plugged in, the provided training flags are used to mark the boundary of the generated safe pet area. This provides a visual aid for pets and pet owners during training. Using the tone-only option, the pet hears a warning tone from the receiver as it approaches the boundary, which warns it to return to the safe area. After 2 weeks of proper training, the pet becomes accustomed to which areas are safe and which areas are no-go.
